"Don't Forget The Magic!" Sticker

I grew up driving up and down the 101 in Northern California, past this sign. It still hits me every time I drive by. It’s right after Laytonville, around County Mile Marker 67. I always have my windows down and am a few sips into a cup from the one coffee shop in town, paired well with the smell of hot grass and black oaks ripping through the open windows. The sign is a welcome reminder.

It was put up by John McCaffrey, a Mendocino legend, on the side of his hobby shop. John passed away in 2015, but I recently chatted with his wife, Marlene, and sent her some stickers.

I made these stickers mainly for friends who also love the mythic sign. But I figure there might be some other folks with whom it resonates! Half the proceeds are going to John’s wife, in honor of the history of my favorite sign.
